BBQ Worth Planning Your Day Around

Tired of basic, forgettable barbecue?
Blue Kuna Smokehouse serves award‑winning, slow‑smoked meats,
real sides, small‑batch sauces-

so good they sell out. Leave full,

Before the smokehouse opened

Blue Kuna sauces and rubs were on shelves across Michigan, in more than 40 stores, giving home cooks the same bold flavors now used on the restaurant’s meats.

The smokehouse is the natural next chapter- where the spice rubs, vegan-friendly sauces, and kiln-dried smoke meet a brick-and-mortar kitchen in the town where it all started.

About Us

Honest BBQ. Michigan Flavor

Blue Kuna started as Chef Randall Kuna’s side project in 2016- small‑batch, Michigan‑inspired BBQ sauces and rubs he developed after more than 25 years in high‑pressure kitchens and as a private chef.

What began in a home kitchen and at local markets has grown into an award‑winning smokehouse in Randall’s hometown of Plymouth, where he slow‑smokes brisket, pork, and ribs over Michigan hardwood and serves them with the same clean‑label, vegan, gluten‑free sauces you’ll find in bottles at over 40 local stores.

Randall chooses to work almost exclusively with other small and local businesses- from the mill that supplies his cherry and apple wood, to nearby makers, bakers, artists, solopreneurs, and farms- so every plate keeps more good work (and good flavor) right here in Michigan.
